A Cell for FUE Hair Transplant

A Cell for FUE Hair Transplant Hair transplant is one of the safest ways of having more hair in places that lack hair. Many people today, suffer from hair loss that is caused by various reasons. It affects people of all ages and gender. Some factors like genetics, medications, hormonal issues, and diseases can cause hair loss. For many years, people have been trying to solve this problem by using different products. These products should cure hair loss, but most of them are ineffective. Also, there are some herbal cures and essential oils, but they do not fully treat the issue. All these products and homemade solutions are obsolete now. Rather than using those things that can harm your body, people have better options. Anyone suffering from hair loss can get a FUSS or FUE hair transplant nowadays.

What is an FUE hair transplant?

For a hair transplant procedure, there are two main techniques. One of those techniques is the Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS). And the other one is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Depending on the condition of the patient and, the surgeon will decide which technique will be the best for him/her. FUSS is a procedure that takes less time. However, it requires making an incision on the back of the scalp. With the FUSS technique, the surgeon can cover bigger areas in less time. On the other hand, the FUE hair transplant technique requires more time. Because, in FUE, the follicles are taken from the donor area and implanted in the recipient area individually. For an FUE procedure, the surgeon will shave the patient’s head, but FUSS does not require that. Also, as hundreds of follicles can be transplanted during an FUE procedure, it can take a few sessions.

An FUE hair transplant procedure will take a minimum of two hours. But as it is a slow process, it may take up to 8 hours in total. During an FUE hair transplant procedure, the surgeon first numbs the scalp. For that, he/she will use a local anesthetic. Depending on the patient’s desire, the surgeon can perform sedation as well. Afterwards, with the help of his team, the surgeon will remove hair roots from the donor area. They will take each individual follicle one by one using a punch tool. Then, they will insert those follicles into tiny cuts and holes in the recipient area. The procedure ends with the covering of the head with bandages and gauze. After the recovery, lots of tiny dots will appear on the head. But do not worry, those will be under the hair and will not be visible.

Stem Cell FUE hair transplant

In our body, we have stem cells, whose job is to turn into other necessary cell types. They easily increase in number. That makes them important in renewing some features of the body and healing. So, using stem cells for curing hair loss is getting more popular lately. For the procedure, the surgeons extract stem cells and inject them back into the scalp. It is an easier procedure but the outcomes can vary from person to person. Also, it may take a few sessions to totally cure the issue. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis. There are small side effects involved in stem cell FUE hair transplant procedures like infections and swellings. There is no certain recovery period for the stem cell FUE hair transplant. Nevertheless, you should avoid heavy housework and exercise for a while after the operation.

Risks and Involved Side Effects in an FUE hair transplant Procedure

The FUE hair transplant procedure is most of the time safe to have. Experienced surgeons assure it to make you experience the discomfort at a minimum. Your surgeon will tell you what you should do to prevent complications. He will also prescribe the medications that will ease your pain and speed up the healing. You will notice small dots where the operation is carried out. Those dots will fade and the growing hair will cover them in time. If you think something is not going well, make sure you tell about it to your surgeon. As stated, there is a small risk of occurrence of some complications. Those complications are:

  • Infections
  • Allergic reactions
  • Swelling and bruising
  • Folliculitis
  • Bleeding
  • Sensation loss in the operated area
  • Hair’s looking artificial

Postoperative Period of an FUE hair transplant

After the procedure, your surgeon will instruct you about how you should take care of the operated area. You should tell your surgeon if you have to use a certain medication. Other than that, do not use any medication but those your surgeon prescribed. After a few days of the procedure, you can wash your hair. Your surgeon may suggest a shampoo that will not interfere with the healing of the operated area. Also, you should take a few days off of work or school to make sure that you rest well. Otherwise, the healing might be slow and you risk your head to be exposed to external forces. For a few weeks, do not comb or brush your hair. Besides, avoiding hats, beanies, scarves, etc. will be good for the healing. After an FUE hair transplant, you should not do heavy housework and avoid exercise for a while.

After the FUE hair transplant, some hair may fall off. But it is an expected situation. That hair will grow back in time. You should not rush for another transplant. Also, if you are insecure about your baldness, you may feel better about yourself after the procedure. Getting rid of the issues that make us worry about our bodies relieves us. That may make your relationships and performance in work or school better. In other words, we can say that the FUE hair transplant can be good for your mental health as well. Most of the patients who have an FUE hair transplant are satisfied with the results. The results of the transplant are easily visible and most of the time successful.
