When Does Hair Begin to Grow After FUE Hair Transplant?
When does hair begin to grow after FUE hair transplant? First 3 months (shock loss, fall and rest phase, no growth):
During the first month, almost all of the transplanted hair traumatized by its displacement will fall out as expected (“shock loss”). 0-7 days: Transplanted hair grows temporarily. 1-4 weeks: Growth stops and hairs begin to fall out with scabs.
Hair loss that occurs 4-5 days after the operation and in the following days is only the hair follicle. Hair follicles are caught by inward opening veins under the scalp and are safe 4-5 days after surgery. The deepest parts of the hair strands mimic the shape of their follicles and look like dots. This is why people think it is a follicle. The truth is that the hair root (follicle) remains safe when hair loss begins 4-5 days after the procedure.

The follicles then go into the telogen resting phase, which lasts 8-10 weeks. Because the bristles are individual structures; some may lose contact with the follicles altogether and fall off first, some may maintain they are fine joints and then fall off, so don’t be alarmed if the planting area looks uneven later.
The hair of the remaining donor area begins to grow immediately after transplantation and covers the area within a week.
3-6 months (new/slow growth stage, ugly duck stage):
After 3-4 months, new hair starts to grow. At first, the new hairs may be as thin and curly as body hair. The longer the hair, the thicker and flatter it becomes.
Since the hair grows at different times at first, the transplantation area may look irregular again at that stage.
6-9 months (hair bang phase):
The most striking growth and thickening occur in the growing hair.
Your new hair will grow normally (1-2 cm per month) and will continue to thicken over the next few months.

The final result occurs 12-15 months after surgery
The growth rate varies from person to person. In general, the final result is reached faster in young patients and anterior transplants; On the other hand, it is seen more slowly in elderly patients and vertex transplants.
Haircut after FUE transplant:
During the first year after the operation, you will only use scissors to cut and straighten the hair of the transplanted areas. Hair clippers and trimmers should not be used in the areas where the first year of transplantation is made. The first haircut for the transplanted areas can begin 1 month after the operation.
You can cut the hair of the donor area at any time (even after 1 week) and use a trimmer, hair clipper, or scissors. You are completely free to cut the hair of the donor area after the transplant operation.
You can protect your hair for a short or long time for the first 9-10 months. In any case, please allow your hair to grow sufficiently in the last 2-3 months of the year after the operation (minimum 4-5 cm above the transplanted areas and 1-2 cm above the donor areas) so that you can accurately see and evaluate your final result. Hair Growth Stage After Hair Transplantation
After an FUE Hair Transplant Treatment
You will be able to see your new hairline right away, but it will take a little longer to benefit from your final results. Everyone’s hair is different, so the full process you will do to see your results will be very different from everyone else. Your hair will still grow at its normal rate, so it’s important to remember that a transplant won’t change that and there’s no magic button to speed up the frustrating process.
To understand how your hair can grow after FUE hair transplantation, you must first understand your hair growth cycle and how exactly each hair strand grows. The active growth period of a hair is known as the anagen phase, and this is where the cells in the bulb of the follicle (where growth occurs) divide rapidly, causing it to grow by an average of 1 cm every four weeks. When your hair is healthy and does not experience thinning, 90% will be at this stage at any time and will stay for about 2-7 years. After the active growth period, the hair will enter the catagen phase (a transition period when growth starts to cease) and then the telogen phase where your hair is released and shed. Hair loss and thinning occur when this cycle is disrupted, meaning hair spends less time in the anagen phase.
After Hair Transplantation
After Hair Transplantation, your hair will continue exactly this cycle – that means it grows at the rate before it was transplant. Most patients will see some of the newly transplanted hair shed a few weeks after treatment, this is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. This is because the follicle is deprive of its blood supply for a short time. The follicle and graft will still be intact, and most patients tend to notice new hair growth about 3-4 months after any loss occurs.
Other than that (it’s a pretty standard expectation), the time taken for your final result will okey entirely personal. Remember, hairs are asynchronous (in other words, they grow out of sync with each other and . Always in different stages at any given time), which means there will not a huge hair rush. Results may begin to show up four to six weeks after treatment, but your final result will not be noticeable until at least five to six months later. Some patients may take up to 18 months to see the results they strive for, depending on their natural hair. They should explain to you what to expect from your recovery .
